A fault in the way the Internet works has incited the biggest security restoration in the history of the web.

The bug which was detected by Dan Kaminsky, a director at the American security specialist IOACtive, has sparked fears that millions of people remain exposed to the hackers who hijacked internet addresses and fooled users into revealing personal details.

The details of the bug which have to not been made public, have lead giant companies such as Microsoft and Cisco Systems to act quickly into managing the dilemma.

Security experts say that even the changes put forward by Microsoft and other large enterprises may not remove all possibilities of a hijack and a failure to update software could mean users are still at risk.

More details will be revealed at a security conference this month.

Firefox’s effort at the Guinness World Record for the most downloads in 24 hours began with the idea being merely too popular, with over a million visitors bringing Firefox’s website down.

After a few hours, the website was running again with over 6 million people downloading the browser.

Firefox has successfully obtained 8 million downloads winning the Guinness World Record.

Whether it is Firefox 3 or Internet Explorer 7 or Safari, Web Browsers must be regularly updated for the latest security patches and new browser features that improve your user experience when viewing websites on the Internet.
 
When viewing our statistical reports, we notice that users are still continuing to use Internet Explorer 6 which was first introduced 8 years ago and therefore is an outdated Web Browser, it is also not fully compliant with the World Wide Web Consortiums (W3C) set standards.
